Dear Residents,

A little update on St Mary’s Garden Village!

The community hub has been a big hit with residents, the gym has been getting lots of use which is fantastic. Just to remind residents not to give their codes to anyone outside of their household, users must be over 16 to use the gym, and please continue to treat the gym with respect. The caretakers have been doing a great job keeping the hub clean and tidy for residents and they just ask that if you use the gym in the evenings, please leave the lights on and they will ensure everything is turned off and locked up when they leave.

The hall has had some really lovely feedback from all users, especially after the addition of new blinds! We have some brilliant regular bookings including yoga, book club and Zumba. Although the hub is not available for hire to the general public, we are allowing the council to hold their meetings as it is a good relationship to build and great income toward the cost of the hall. We want to encourage the support of the hub with more regular bookings as well as one off bookings for parties and events. The CCTV is very close to being fully up and running, most cameras have been completed and we are waiting for Edenstone to finalise when we will be getting the bikes outside the hub replaced.

It appears Spring has finally arrived and so Karl the gardener will start to be visiting the site more often to maintain the site. With the weather still unpredictable he will be doing his best to keep the grass neat, and the weeds under control without making more mess! Over the past months he has been busy tending to trees and mulching. He also addressed the divots in the grass play area. We are also seeking advice from an expert to maintain the pond areas and encourage wildlife. A resident got in touch to ask about planting snowdrops and daffodils outside her house, which was lovely. Input from residents is always welcomed!
